Sampdoria
Founded in 1946, the club made its debut in the first division in the 1946/1947 season when they finished 10th.
Sampdoria's name originated from the fusion of two former football clubs: Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria. Sampdoria won their first European trophy in 1990 by beating Anderlecht in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final played in Göteborg.
