SpVgg Greuther Fürth
In 1903, SpVgg Fürth was founded as the football department of the TV 1860 fistball club. They only adopted the "Greuther" in their name in 1995, after merging with TSV Vestenbergsgreuth.
In the early days of German football they were a powerhouse, winning 3 pre-Bundesliga Championships between 1914 and 1929. And on the 21st of April 1924 the German national team only consisted of players from two clubs - 6 from Fürth, 5 from their biggest rivals 1. FC Nuremberg.
